MASTER PLAN
I specialize in Master Planning, or the process of looking at your entire property to establish an overall design scheme for how you will accomplish all of your landscaping goals.
This work includes the development of design concepts, layout plans, detail and construction drawings and planting plans. Your design will meet your needs, whether that is to create more play space for children and/or animals, build an outdoor dining space, address significant grade changes, correct drainage problems, or simply to create planting beds that please you.
Once we establish and agree upon your landscaping goals, I get to work. The process begins with a thorough site analysis that includes measuring your property and documenting existing conditions, taking photos, understanding the property's grading and other issues.
With all this information assimilated, I create a couple of design concepts for you to evaluate. Design concepts are well thought-out ideas for how to arrange the garden space. Sometimes clients implement a concept in its entirety, other times we end up borrowing from both ideas.
Phase One:
Concept Development
Phase Three:
Oversight
Phase Two:
Layout Plan
When the homeowners choose a Concept Plan (or combination of features from the concepts), I create the Layout Plan. The Layout Plan is a blueprint for the garden design and specifies how the garden will be built and installed. The Layout Plan includes Construction Details for any built items, and materials estimates, for instance, amount of flagstone needed for a patio, or how many yards of topsoil will be needed for a new planting bed. This helps the homeowners get apples-to-apples bids from installation companies.
I ama available to oversee the installation of your garden from start to finish. This ensures proper coordination of contractors, and that the original vision of the plans are in fact realized.
